Welcome to Remote Radio Concepts - Home of the Remote-O-Mic©

What is Remote-O-Mic©?

It is software that allows you to remotely control your Icom IC7000™ radio - at your home radio shack - from any location using a cell phone.

What does it do?

Remote-O-Mic© is an interface between your phone and your radio that allows you to control your radio remotely. You can change frequency, talk (broadcast), and listen while you are mobile (in your vehicle, on a boat, on a train, while hunting, fishing, or camping) or any place that takes you away from your shack and you want to check on what's happening on your favorite bands. No need to buy a separate portable radio, no need to fuss with mounting an antenna on your vehicle.

What equipment do I need?

Remote-O-Mic© is designed for Icom IC7000 ™ radio users. (Other radio interfaces are in development.) You'll also need a computer running Windows XP or Windows Vista, a cell phone, and a Skype account.

How does it work?

You use your cell phone to send DTMF tones via the Internet to your home computer, which "talks" to your radio. The radio in turn "talks" back to you by verifying your commands. Special phonepad key sequences allow you to "key the mic" and "unkey the mic" allowing you to communicate.

Is it easy to use?

If you can use a telephone, you can use Remote-O-Mic©. Installation is easy.
